THINGS WORTH HOLDING – 003
new forms and devotion to self
For most of my life I’ve resisted the idea of routine.
My mind couldn’t handle doing the same thing over and over again. I liked the joy of doing something new everyday. I thought it kept my mind sharp.
And maybe it’s with age, or just a realization for my desire of stability, or maybe it was changing my definition of what a routine could be?… All I know is now I crave it.
I’ve had so much change in my life in the past year (much longer than this really, but this most recent year has hit me at all angles). Life has asked me to let go, rebuild, and start again. Somewhere in the midst of that, I realized I wanted something in my life I could count on.
And I realize now that it has to be me.
It has to be how I choose to continuously show up for myself. Through my practice, my devotion, my care. That is the constant.
In this era of my life where I’m doing a full leap into artistry, routine has become essential. It’s how I stay grounded for my physical, mental, spiritual, and creative health.
It’s teaching me how to balance my time. And answer the questions that come up too often:
How can I use the most of my time without feeling guilty for what I choose to use “productively” vs. rest?
How can I explore thoughts and creative ideas?
How can I ensure I’m doing all the things that I have to do to take care of myself and my financial responsibilities without burning out?
I can’t say I have the answers but my devotion to myself is at an all time high.
Thanks for being here with me,
Madisyn Mahagoni
Loop Cups
The last small batch sold out before I could even post about it, so I’m back with more.
I’ve been testing new glazes and combinations for my loop vases, using my loop cups as functional test tiles. Some colors may stay, some might only appear once… no promises to either. If it speaks to you, listen :)

The Honor System
A small number of Loop Vases will now be made available periodically through what I’m calling the Honor System. This is a gesture meant for those who feel called to collect but may not always have access to higher-priced sculptural works.
The form, texture, and finish shift with each release, reflecting the material and time at the moment of creation.
(If you feel drawn to one but it’s still out of reach for you, please message me privately. I’m happy to work with you one on one.)

Other Objects
Teacups, one of one sets, loop cup case studies, and prints are also available.
Lately, I’ve been playing with new forms— small bowls, jars, catch-all dishes, and ash trays. I’m having a lot of fun making vases right now, but we’ll see where the wheel takes me next.
What kind of functional objects would you be interested in holding? I’m curious.

Your loop vases/cups remind me of braids. I love it. This piece definitely resonated with me, I need to take up for myself more.
The longer and deeper I fall into this whole creative-consistency thing, the more amazing it feels to have a routine lol I'm so happy for you, keep up the beautiful work <3
